Despite the distance, Bruno Tabata remains very attentive to the reality of Sporting, at a time when the lions are getting closer and closer to reaching the title of national champion. In an interview with RTP, this Wednesday, the Brazilian winger recalled how he arrived at Alvalade and highlighted the atmosphere that was experienced at that time.

"There were other negotiations, even with Sp. Braga, but I wanted Sporting. Above all, because I felt that the reformulation that was made was very sustained. Of course, I didn't expect to be champion in the first year", began by saying Tabata, now in the service of Qatar SC, continuing.

"I felt that people were very grateful for being there. I was in Lisbon in January and there was a team dinner and I went! It's been almost two years since I left Sporting and even for the new players it's not strange", explained the 27-year-old Brazilian player.

Tabata also highlighted two unavoidable names from the current Sporting, stating that he had never seen a player have so much impact in such a short time in Portugal.

"Gyokeres? I played in Portugal for six and a half years and I may not have seen a player with such an impact in a season and in the country. You can see the respect that the opponents have", pointed out Tabata, before praising Pedro Gonçalves.

"Pote scores goals very easily. He has simple processes and is a player who gets injured little and who gives depth. Of the four years of the coach, he was perhaps the player who made the most difference", he stressed, also saving words of praise for Rúben Amorim.

"As he was a player for so long, he always tried to reproduce things that when he was a player, it made sense. How to manage, how to speak... I felt very convinced by him and thought: 'how can he have this conviction with only one year as a coach?'", concluded the player who was champion for Sporting in 2020/21, scoring two goals in 20 games this season.
