"Pinto da Costa? Who am I to say anything other than history?"
Portuguese coach commented on André Villas-Boas' arrival to the presidency of FC Porto.

José Mourinho commented this Wednesday on the election of André Villas-Boas as the new president of FC Porto, putting an end to the 42-year reign of Pinto da Costa.
"I am in the history of FC Porto as a coach, not as a member. I kept away from the electoral process and will continue to be out of the club's current affairs. Of course, it is an important club in my history. To say a few words to Mr. President Pinto da Costa, who am I to say anything more than what history says? To the new president, Villas-Boas, with whom I lived close to five or six years of my career, obviously I cannot wish anything negative", began by saying Mourinho, in Vila do Conde, on the sidelines of a tribute by Rio Ave to the former players of the club who went to the Portuguese Cup final, 40 years ago, among whom was his father, Félix Mourinho, recalling the times when Villas-Boas was part of his technical team.
"He was the one who worked with me (laughs)... We are talking about 15 years in which we did not work together. People change so much, for better or for worse. He had an experience in football and obviously prepared himself for this challenge of his life. He surely prepared well. If he ran, it is because he feels capable of doing so. The most important thing is what he thinks of himself and not what others may think of him", stressed the experienced Portuguese coach who is without a club.
