Leonardo Jardim 'sends off' Pedro Martins and is in the Qatar Cup final
Al-Rayyan defeated Al-Gharafa few days after they smiled in the race for the vice-leadership in the championship.

Just three days after smiling in the race for the Qatar championship runners-up, Al-Rayyan, by Leonardo Jardim, beat Al-Gharafa, by Pedro Martins, by 2-1, this Wednesday, thus stamping the qualification for the final of the competition, against Al-Wakra, who eliminated the champion Al-Sadd in Xeka's debut.
In a game with a lot of intervention from the video referee, the team of the former Sporting coach lined up with the Portuguese André Amaro (ex-Vitória SC), in the eleven, having even celebrated a goal by Rodrigo Moreno, at 26 minutes, until the VAR identified an irregularity in the play finished by the former Benfica.
Already in the second half, Sano put Pedro Martins' team in the lead at 62 minutes, but Al-Rayyan responded with a turnaround in nine minutes, in a brace by Bencharki (78' and 87'), with assistance from Bruno Tabata, ex-Sporting, for the tie. In between, Alaaeldin still put Al-Gharafa back in front, but had a goal disallowed at 80 minutes.
Thus, Al-Rayyan advances to the final of the Qatar Cup and is positioned as the favorite to win the trophy, which would leave the Portuguese André Amaro and Leonardo Jardim celebrating.
