Ángel di María's contract with Benfica ends next June, and, with no agreement in sight regarding a renewal, his immediate future continues to be the talk of the town, not only in Portugal, but also abroad.

The Argentine international has reportedly been the target of exploratory contact from Inter Miami, a club where his compatriot Lionel Messi plays, after having ruled out, once and for all, a possible return to Rosario Central, after death threats directed at his own family in recent weeks. However, according to information released this Friday by the Argentine television station TyC Sports, the 36-year-old player's primary objective is to remain with the Eagles next season. It remains to be seen whether the management led by Rui Costa intends to offer a new contract to the forward, who has already scored 16 goals and provided 13 assists in the 46 official matches he has played since returning to Luz last summer.
