Real Madrid clinched the Spanish championship on the ‘couch’. The Cibeles Square in Madrid is already warming up for the celebrations after Girona’s victory over Barcelona, this Saturday afternoon (4-2). A resounding triumph that guarantees Girona unprecedented qualification for the Champions League.

João Cancelo was the only Portuguese in the eleven, Félix came in at 84’. Barcelona even started the game well, scoring first. It was Andreas Christensen, just three minutes into the game, who embodied the attack very well. He received with his chest, turned to the goal and shot.

Girona tied, almost immediately, through the League's top scorer – Artem Dovbyk, with a header. Still in the first half, Barcelona returned to the lead with a penalty kick, exemplarily taken by Lewandowski.

In the second half, Xavi Hernández's team 'turned off'. They conceded three goals, with one man standing out – Portu, a Spanish winger, came in at 65 minutes and scored immediately. Then, he gave another goal to Miguel Gutierrez and still had time, at 74 minutes, to score a goal worthy of Puskas, reminiscent of Marco Van Basten in the Euro 1988 final.

This result leaves Real Madrid with the 36th title in their hands and Girona wins a historic qualification. Barcelona drops to third place in the table.
