FC Porto has released a sort of biography of André Villas-Boas, the new president of the dragons who took office on Tuesday and now holds the position that belonged to Pinto da Costa for the last 42 years, even describing him as "a descendant of three players from the club's first teams" with the proper history behind the new leader.

"One of the common points between the three most recent presidents of FC Porto is the fact that all of them have ancestors with strong connections to the club's life. Américo de Sá (1972-1982) was the son of José Gomes de Sá, president of the General Assembly in 1954-1955 and author of a speech, in the middle of the dictatorship, in which he stated that voting is "the most sacred" of human rights. His successor, Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa (1982-2024), is the nephew of Carlos Teixeira da Costa Júnior, president of the board in 1936-1938 who was associated with winning the 1937 Portuguese Championship. André Villas-Boas is a descendant of three brothers of English origin who participated as players in several of FC Porto's first games, both in 1893 and from 1906 onwards", wrote the dragons.

"The three Kendall brothers were among the first athletes of FC Porto, founded in 1893 by António Nicolau de Almeida. In the oldest match on record, played between members on October 8, 1893, Alfred and Edward Kendall participated – André Villas-Boas' great-grandfather. In the second match, on October 15, 1893, Edward Kendall was captain. And in the famous challenge against Lisbonense, on March 2, 1894, Albert Kendall was one of the midfielders and Alfred Kendall was part of the forward line", added the blue and white emblem.

"Taking this into account, it is not surprising that the Kendall family is responsible for restoring the historical truth about the foundation of FC Porto in 1893. In August 1956, months after winning the first double, Yustrich's team went on tour in Brazil. It was in Rio de Janeiro that the club's directors were approached by an elderly man who had emigrated there and who claimed to have played for FC Porto long before its supposed foundation in 1906. It was Alfred Kendall, Edward Kendall's brother and André Villas-Boas' great-great-uncle, who provided several documents that testified to the existence of FC Porto in 1893 and 1894. Shortly after being revealed by Rodrigues Teles in the pages of the newspaper O Porto, these pieces of history can now be seen at the FC Porto Museum", completed FC Porto.

It should be recalled that, on April 27, André Villas-Boas gathered around 80% of the votes in the FC Porto presidential elections, ending up dethroning Pinto da Costa, after several weeks of accusations and much controversy.
