Paris'2024. Swimmer Angélica André is calm about the water in the Seine River
Portuguese swimmer Angélica André assured today that she is at ease regarding the water quality of the Seine River, where the open water events of the Paris2024 Olympic Games will be held.

"We have seen that Paris has tried to improve the situation of the Seine and I saw that they made a reservoir because of the rain. I see this with some peace of mind", said Angélica André, who prefers to compete in cold water and with waves, but says that open water swimmers have to "be prepared for everything".
At the World Aquatics Championships, in February, in Doha, the FC Porto swimmer achieved a historic result in the 10 km, winning the bronze medal, which was Portugal's first ever medal in the discipline at the World Championships.
After the presentation of the Portuguese team's uniforms and equipment for Paris2024, at Lisbon Airport, Angélica André admitted that this medal brings responsibility and allows her to dream more, but she has not yet forgotten the 17th place in Tokyo2020.
"The first goal is to be able to avenge myself from Tokyo. Of course, after an extraordinary World Championship that I had in February, I don't see that there are any impossibilities of achieving more than the result I had in Tokyo and expecting a great result", she assumed.
The Paris2024 Olympic Games will take place from July 26th to August 11th.
