"If we let ourselves get drunk on the victory against Benfica..."

Famalicão's coach said today that if the team gets "drunk with the victory against Benfica" in the last matchday, it will face difficulties against Desportivo de Chaves, in the 33rd round of the 1st Football League.

Armando Evangelista believes that the transmontanos, in a complicated position in the league table, will not "throw in the towel" and will continue to try to fight for their place in the league, and therefore he argues that this will be a very complicated game.

"This will be the last opportunity for Desportivo de Chaves to fight for a greater goal and if Famalicão is not careful, the follow-up we want to give to the last victory may become difficult. We will have Chaves giving their all for the three points. We have to be prepared for that," began by saying the coach of the Famalicão team at a press conference previewing the match.

The coach explained that the attitude will not change and that this is the main secret to being closer to victory.

"We have to be like ourselves. We can't go from game to game. The attitude has to be always the same. Motivation, will to win, being competitive. That has to always be on the table. And then, we can't be afraid to lose. If that happens, we will win more often. And that's how we will look at this game, knowing that on the other side there are emotions running high," he explained.

Armando Evangelista praised the Desportivo de Chaves team, which he believes will give their all until the end to remain in the I League.

"I continue to look at Chaves as a team full of good elements, a team that will continue to want to cling to the glimmer of hope they have. I believe that no one will throw in the towel. And we, if we let ourselves get drunk with the victory against Benfica, we will have a bad time. Our focus can only end at the end of the last game, with Casa Pia," he argued.

The coach also addressed the issue of continuity at Famalicão but, once again, left everything open.

"My contract with Famalicão ends on May 31st. From that day on, I am free to negotiate with Famalicão or any other club. This is our life," he said.

Famalicão, in eighth place, with 39 points, plays this Friday, at 8:15 pm, at the home of Desportivo de Chaves, in 17th place, with 23, in a match of the 33rd round of the Portuguese I League football that will be refereed by Ricardo Baixinho, from the Lisbon Football Association.
