The rivalry between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi has been going on for a long time and is even coming to an end, but even so, the duo continues to compete with each other... with many goals. In the declining phase of their respective careers, CR7 and Messi continue to be synonymous with many goals, but the Portuguese star is proving to be more effective in this chapter.

Curiously, TyC Sports, from Argentina, decided to do the math on the goals in their entire careers and found a 'gap' of 58 goals between the Portuguese star and the Argentine star. 

With another goal scored on Thursday night, against Al-Akhdoud, Cristiano Ronaldo raised to 891 the goals scored over several years of his career, getting closer and closer to reaching the 900 mark, which he may even surpass in the service of Portugal at Euro'2024, in just over a month.

In turn, Lionel Messi has already scored 23 goals for Inter Miami, the team he now represents, and has a total of 833 goals. Even so, it is worth remembering that the Argentine is 36 years old, while CR7 is 39.
