The two-time Brazilian champions consolidated their leadership of Group F and are one draw away -- which may not even be necessary in the last two rounds -- from qualifying for the round of 16 of the most important South American club competition, which they have already won in 2020 and 2021, under the leadership of the Portuguese coach.

In Montevideo, in the fourth round match, Palmeiras only broke the resistance of the Uruguayan team at 44 minutes, when Raphael Veiga opened the scoring, launching himself into a voluminous triumph in the final phase of the second half, with the midfielder's 'brace' (71) and goals from Endrick (82), Rony (90+1) and Gustavo Gómez (90+6).

In the South American Cup, Bragantino also took an important step towards the knockout stage, thanks to an all-out start against Racing Club, rewarded with two goals from Thiago Borbas, in the fifth and seventh minutes, to which the Argentine team only partially responded, with a goal from Santiago Solari, in the 25th.

The team coached by Pedro Caixinha caught Racing Club in first place in Group H, both with a comfortable five-point advantage over the third-placed team, the Chileans from Coquimbo, with two rounds to go in the group stage, although only the first-placed team will go directly to the round of 16.
