"It's a very important game for us, obviously, and we will do everything, giving our best, to achieve a victory, which we want to give to those who support us. We have prepared ourselves diligently, with the team working very well, and we wish to have the necessary luck and ability to achieve the result that interests us most", said Paulo Sérgio, in statements released by the Algarve emblem.

The Vila-condenses secured their permanence last week and the coach of the Algarve team, who occupy 16th place, with access to the play-off for maintenance, clearly ruled out any relaxation from an opponent with no aspirations.

"That is the wrong way to look at the matter. Every professional with pride always has something to gain every time they wear the jersey of their colours. Therefore, I am well aware of the difficulties that we will encounter tomorrow [Saturday], because Rio Ave is a team with a lot of quality", he assured.

The coach of the 'alvinegros' stressed that Rio Ave has "a well-defined work process, which comes from the year of promotion" to the I League, in 2022, with "elements of great quality, who have been working together for three or four years", and is "very well led" by Luís Freire.

"We know that we will have to work hard to get the boat to a safe harbour", warned Paulo Sérgio, adding that the preparation for this match has not changed in relation to what usually happens.

The coach also asked for the support of the Portimonense public for a crucial game, pointing out that "it gives much greater comfort" to the players when there is "a full house cheering for the team".

"Without a doubt, it is in everyone's interest to achieve permanence and we will do everything to achieve this joy", he concluded.

Portimonense, 16th classified, with 28 points, and Rio Ave, 10th, with 35, will face each other on Saturday, at 3:30 pm, at the Portimão Municipal Stadium, with refereeing by João Pinheiro, from the Braga Football Association.
