The adventure in Chaves is over. Desportivo de Chaves goes down to the II League

After Vizela, another club is returning to the II League. Desportivo de Chaves lost, this Friday, at the reception to Famalicão (0-1), in a game of the 33rd round of the I League, and saw the relegation confirmed one round before the end of the championship.
A solitary goal by Gustavo Sá at the end of the half-time (45+2') sealed the negative scenario for the Trás-os-Montes club, which had to win to still dream of reaching the playoff place, where Portimonense is.
Desportivo de Chaves thus returns to the second tier of national football after two consecutive seasons in the I League - the return had happened in 2021/22 via the playoff.
In turn, Famalicão is positioned in eighth place with 42 points.
