It was not an easy Friday for the Portuguese in Saudi Arabia. Al Khaleej, led by Pedro Emanuel, lost at home to Al Wehda, by 2-1, while Al Ittihad, led by Jota, was thrashed by Al Ettifaq. The games were part of the 31st round of the championship
Let's start with Al Khaleej. With Ivo Rodrigues and Pedro Rebocho as starters, Odion Ighalo opened the scoring for the visitors at the 27th minute of the game.
Already in the second half, Sherif tied the game for the home team at the 66th minute, which saw its task become more complicated when Masoud touched the ball with his hand inside the area, saw the second yellow card, and was sent off at the 79th minute. From the 11-meter mark, Ighalo scored again and sealed the final result.
After the math, Al Khaleej is in 11th place with 36 points, one more than Al Wehda.
In turn, Al Ittihad was humiliated at home, with a heavy defeat, by 0-5, against Al Ettifaq, coached by Steven Gerrard.
At halftime, the visitors were already winning with goals from Fofana (5'), Dembélé, who converted a penalty at the 31st minute, and Toko-Ekambi (35' and 36'). The former Lyon player even scored a hat-trick at the 55th minute.
Al Ittihad, which was not on the scoresheet, is in fifth place with 50 points. Al Ettifaq is one place below with 44 points.
