'Coup de théâtre' keeps Portimonense linked to the 'chip' of maintenance

It was at the end of the game that Portimonense managed, this Saturday, to keep the fight alive for remaining in the I League, by drawing when receiving Rio Ave (2-2), in a game counting towards the 33rd and penultimate round of the competition.
In Portimão, Amine scored for Luís Freire's team at 23 minutes, in a move that needed to be validated by the video referee.
Already in the second half, Carlinhos drew for the home team at 64 minutes, a tie that gave better prospects of direct maintenance to Paulo Sérgio's men.
However, and already in the final minutes, Pantalon once again put Rio Ave in the lead (85'). However, the game was not over yet. Already in stoppage time, and after a mistake by Costinha, Hélio Varela scored the equalising goal for the Algarve.
With this result, Rio Ave is in tenth place with 36 points. Portimonense remains in 16th place with 29 points, which puts the Algarve team in the relegation play-off spot, one point behind Estrela da Amadora. The next game for the black and golds is against their rivals Farense.
