Fontelas Gomes satisfied with Portuguese refereeing in the LCE final
The president of the Arbitration Council (CA) of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), José Fontelas Gomes, expressed "redoubled satisfaction" with the appointment today of Artur Soares Dias for the final of the Europa Conference League.

"It is with renewed satisfaction that we note the appointment, by UEFA, of Artur Soares Dias, assistant referees Paulo Soares and Pedro Ribeiro, and VAR Tiago Martins, for the 2024 Europa Conference League final, after the same refereeing team was chosen for the final phase of the European Championship", considered the leader.
Fontelas Gomes added that the presence in the final of the third UEFA competition, to be played at the AEK Arena, in Athens, between Olympiacos and Fiorentina on May 29, "brings prestige to Portuguese football and refereeing".
"It represents all the work that has been done by Portuguese refereeing, the referees and the entire structure. In addition, this is the season with the most referees in European competitions. As you know, preparing a referee for the highest competitions is a job that takes seasons", he also said.
This will be the fifth European club competition final with Portuguese referees, after António Garrido and Pedro Proença refereed the 1979/80 and 2011/12 Champions League finals, respectively, and Vítor Pereira refereed the 2001/02 UEFA Cup final and the 2001 European Super Cup.
