Liverpool could only manage a draw, this Monday, against Aston Villa (3-3), in a match of the 37th and penultimate round of the Premier League. The Reds even started winning thanks to a 'chicken', were winning by two goals until the 84th minute, but allowed Unai Emery's team to reach a draw.
Emiliano Martínez scored a surreal own goal after just two minutes and left the visitors winning. In response, Aston Villa scored through Belgian Tielemans, but the draw did not last long on the scoreboard.
Gakpo, at 23 minutes, gave the advantage back to the Reds, who would extend it at the start of the second half, through Quansah (48').
After so much insistence, at 84 minutes, Aston Villa managed to reduce the minimum difference thanks to a goal from Jhon Durán, with the same player scoring unintentionally (!) the third goal that set the draw as the final result at Villa Park.
With this result, Liverpool reached the 79-point mark and bid farewell to the season next Sunday, with the reception to Wolverhampon. In turn, Aston Villa will be cheering for Manchester City's victory at Tottenham's home ground tomorrow, Tuesday, to celebrate fourth place, which gives access to the Champions League.
