Official: Benfica secures young Portuguese international until 2028

Benfica announced this Tuesday that they have reached an agreement with Pedro Santos to renew the contractual bond between both parties until 2028, following a season in which he was one of the main highlights of the incarnate B team.
"It is an important milestone in my career. It brings great responsibilities. I hope to live up to the challenge. I am very happy and the goal is to reach Benfica's main team", said the 28-year-old, who plays both as a midfielder and as a forward, in statements to BTV.
It is recalled that Pedro Santos was part of the squad that led Benfica to win the UEFA Youth League, in 2022, after having already celebrated titles in the youth and junior categories, and has been with the Luz emblem since 2016, when he left Fiães.
This season, in 31 games, the 21-year-old footballer scored three goals and three assists for Nélson Veríssimo's team, and could be an option for Roger Schmidt in the future.
