Emmanuel Petit, a prominent name in the history of French football, with stints at 'giants' such as Barcelona, Arsenal or Monaco, did not spare, this Tuesday, in the criticisms made of the season signed by Paris Saint-Germain.
In statements made on the French television station RMC Sport, the former French international pointed out the president's sports advisor, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, as one of the main culprits for the fact that the club still cannot conquer the Champions League, despite the high investment.
"I blame him for making too many mistakes in too many profiles, while PSG was changing course. I have the feeling that many fell short and did not please Luis Enrique. It's not just a financial fiasco", he began by saying.
"We are talking about 600 million euros, and I can't even count the successes on the fingers of one hand. It is also a fiasco on the sporting level. Despite the agenda he has and the great [Jorge] Mendes, who acts as an oracle above him, they made the same mistakes of the past", he continued.
"On the political level, it is suicide. I think that if we had asked Nasser Al-Khelaifi for his opinion on Campos, after Dortmund, his words would have gone beyond thoughts. The last chapter was the relationship with Kylian Mbappé", he added.
