RFEF meets with FPF, FIFA and UEFA to try to 'save' the 2030 World Cup
Body seeks to dispel suspicions of interference by the Spanish government.

The newly inaugurated president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Pedro Rocha, has set to 'work' to ensure that the country does not lose the joint organization of the 2030 World Cup, with Portugal, Morocco, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.
According to information provided by the Spanish newspaper Marca, the leader has scheduled a meeting for Thursday with his counterparts from FIFA, Gianni Infantino, and UEFA, Aleksander Ceferin, in order to seek guarantees that both continue to support the aforementioned initiative.
A decision that comes after the Superior Council of Sports (CSD) announced the creation of a Supervision, Normalization and Representation Commission, with the aim of holding the RFEF accountable, which could mean a case of political interference.
A scenario that goes against the regulations of the body that governs world football, and which, adds the same publication, has also been leading to a series of conversations with the president of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), Fernando Gomes.
