APAF complaint costs FC Porto a hefty fine

The Disciplinary Council of the Portuguese Football Federation announced, this Wednesday, in the form of a statement issued through official platforms, that it has fined FC Porto's SAD in the amount of 8,670 euros.
At issue are criticisms made of the referees' performances, through the Dragões Diário newsletter, which led to the submission of a "complaint" by the Portuguese Football Association (APAF), which, in turn, gave rise to a disciplinary proceeding, now materialized in a hefty fine.
The blue and white sports company was found guilty of a "disciplinary offense", namely, at the level of "injury to the honor and reputation of the bodies of the sports structure and its members".
"The disciplinary hearing was scheduled for May 9, 2024, on May 7, 2024, the Defendant SAD submitted a request with full and unreserved confession of the facts described in the accusation, which was accepted by the Rapporteur's order on May 7, 2024", can be read.
