Afonso Meireles guarantees that opponents in the European "do not scare"
The midfielder Afonso Meireles assured today that Portugal's opponents in the European Football Championship in the category "don't scare" the Portuguese, who want to "prove their strength on the field".

"At this moment, everything is going well, as far as possible. Our group is strong, united and we are prepared for what is to come", said the Vitória de Guimarães player, quoted by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF).
For the midfielder, aged 17, "the opponents do not scare" the 'quinas' team, which will face France, Spain and England.
"We have already played against these teams. We know the quality of these teams and we cannot be afraid to face teams with quality, because we are also very strong and I believe that we will prove it on the 21st, on the field", he said.
The under-17 team is concentrated in the City of Football, in Oeiras, district of Lisbon, until Friday, still with a large group that, on Thursday, will be reduced to 20 players.
The team, moreover, won the competition in 2003 and 2016, and this year has a complicated mission in Group D, with France, Spain and England, opening the tournament against the Spanish (on Tuesday), followed by the English (24) and the French (27).
The two best classified teams in each 'poule' qualify for the quarter-finals of the European Championship, which will take place between May 20 and June 05, in Cyprus.
