Álvaro Pacheco files a criminal complaint against the president of Vitória SC
Coach accuses António Miguel Cardoso of "defamation".

Álvaro Pacheco will file a criminal complaint against Vitória SC president António Miguel Cardoso, following the press conference given by the latter on Wednesday, in which he announced the 'divorce' between both parties.
In a statement sent to newsrooms, the 52-year-old coach's press office points the finger at the "numerous very serious statements that attack the honour and good name" of the coach, and which led him to formally accuse his now former employer of "defamation".
"The lack of word has been a constant, but it reached its most serious point today with António Miguel Cardoso lying across the board about everything that involved Álvaro Pacheco's departure from Vitória SC", one can read.
"For the values he defends, namely honour, respect and even more for the connection, dedication and commitment he has always had with Vitória Sport Clube and its fans, Álvaro Pacheco is filing this criminal complaint for defamation, for himself but also for the Vitorianos who do not deserve for the institution's leaders to not tell them the whole truth about all the facts", he adds.
According to what Desporto ao Minuto was able to find out, Álvaro Pacheco had already agreed with António Miguel Cardoso that he would coach the team in the last match of the I Liga, against Arouca, before leaving for Vasco da Gama. However, the latter ended up giving the former an ultimatum, warning him that, if he did not leave immediately, he would not let him leave until the end of June, when his contract ended.
The intention of the coach born in Felgueiras was to beat the historical points record of the team from Guimarães, in the main national division, which ended up not being possible, which is why he feels wronged, leading him to file this lawsuit.
