The São Miguel Stadium is at risk of not being licensed, with the need for the Regional Government of the Azores, which owns the venue, to carry out works so that the space can continue to be used by the Azorean emblem in the 2024/2025 season, in which it will participate in the I League, as stated by Ricardo Pacheco, club president and member of the SAD, in statements to RTP Açores.

"What we can say is that there is a convergence of ideas. We are all willing to join forces to find the best solutions and we will certainly find them, in order to have the growth of the sports project in São Miguel", said Klauss Câmara, on the sidelines of a visit to the facilities of the Ponta Delgada Volunteer Firefighters barracks.

The CEO of the 'incarnates' of Ponta Delgada also wanted to "reassure the fans", guaranteeing that after the duel with União de Leiria, on Sunday, on the last day of the II League, he will be available to address "everything that is important".

The alert regarding the need for works to be carried out was made in the first instance by Ricardo Pacheco in statements to RTP Açores, in which he admitted that there was a strong possibility that the team would play on the mainland next season.

"Works will have to be carried out in the very near future, unless I am mistaken, by June 20 or 24. If this problem is not solved, Santa Clara will not play in São Miguel next season. I know that there is this concern on the part of government entities", he said.

In statements to the regional channel, the Regional Secretary for Education, Culture and Sports, Sofia Ribeiro, was questioned about the possibility of transferring the management of the São Miguel Stadium to Santa Clara's SAD, a scenario that she did not rule out, but also did not commit to.

"It is still premature to give any answer at this level. I do not rule out any type of scenario, but I cannot commit to any type of scenario either", said the government official.

Sofia Ribeiro said that the stadium's pitch recently received a good evaluation and that the Government of the Azores has not yet been informed of any report from the League of Clubs demanding changes, although she admits that there have been conversations with the Azorean SAD with a view to improving some aspects of that venue.

Santa Clara guaranteed last Sunday its return to the I Football League, together with Nacional, one year after being relegated to the second tier.
