A former maintenance worker at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia pleaded guilty Wednesday to stealing millions of dollars worth of memorabilia and historic items from the Masters, including a jacket worn by golf legend Arnold Palmer.

Richard Globensky of Georgia made his initial appearance in federal court in Chicago on Wednesday, according to ESPN. Prosecutors said the 39-year-old stole the items from a storage facility and then sold them to a Florida memorabilia dealer, who sold them online.

The scheme lasted nearly a decade and netted Globensky about $5 million.

The items, which were stolen between 2009 and 2022, included shirts, mugs and chairs, as well as historic artifacts including green jackets and Masters badges from the 1930s. He is scheduled to be sentenced in late October and faces up to 10 years in prison.
