CBF suspends two rounds of the Brazilian Championship due to floods
Several teams asked for the stoppage.

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) announced this Wednesday the suspension of the Brasileirão. The tournament will stop for two rounds. The entity explains, on the official website, that it is responding to the request of 15 of the 20 teams that compete in the Série A.
The postponed rounds are the seventh and eighth, in the next two weekends. The date coincides with the games of the Gaucho teams - Grêmio, Internacional and Juventude.
If there are no changes, the Brasileirão will return on June 1, in the 9th round.
"In recent days, Brazil has been radically affected by an unprecedented environmental tragedy in history, which directly impacted millions of people in the State of Rio Grande do Sul and, consequently, football played in Brazil", began by justifying the entity.
"This decision was also based on the request made by the Gaucho Football Federation (FGF), which forwarded and endorsed the request of its affiliated clubs", they add, listing the clubs that requested the suspension. Among them is Botafogo, from Artur Jorge.
