Cuiabá, managed by Portuguese coach Petit, secured, on Wednesday night, their place in the South American Cup, the second most important club competition in CONMEBOL.
Playing at home, the Brazilians drew with Peruvian team Deportivo Garcilaso (1-1), and already know that they will finish second in the group, which means they will play the play-off to access the round of 16 with a team relegated from the Copa Libertadores.
With one matchday to go, Cuiabá have nine points, four less than leaders Lanús, Deportivo Garcilaso have five and Metropolitanos have not scored any points.
