"Future? We have talked a lot, this week we have even talked more about it"

"It was a first experience in a professional team that was a little different, because I wasn't the one who started. I started as assistant coach of two coaches and I take this opportunity, once again, to leave another word of gratitude to both Filipe Martins and Pedro Moreira because they both welcomed me very well and welcomed me very well to their coaching staff. They made me a better coach and much of our success is due to them, even though they individually did not have the success they wanted", said the coach, in a press conference previewing the 34th and final round of the I League football.

Regarding the farewell match for the Lisbon emblem in the 2023/24 edition, against Famalicão, Gonçalo Santos intends to overcome the two consecutive defeats, against Sporting de Braga and Moreirense, remembering that "the last image is the one that remains", considering it important to close the championship by winning.

"Fortunately, we achieved the final goal a few weeks ago, which was important for us, the coaching staff and the players, due to the difficult and exhausting season we had, and it was very important for the club. The goals are to try the best possible: to go to Famalicão and try to win the game is always very important. It is important to end with a victory and the last image is the one that remains", he argued.

The Casa Pia coach directed praise to the work group he leads, anticipating that several will head to other destinations in the future due to the football quality they demonstrated in the service of the Lisbon club.

"Many of them will probably leave for better clubs and I will be very proud of them. If they stay here, whether with Gonçalo Santos or not, I am also absolutely sure that they will be very proud to continue at Casa Pia and will be very successful", he said.

Finally, Gonçalo Santos focused exclusively on the match that he will have ahead and considered it irrelevant to comment on issues such as the arrival of new players or his possible renewal.

"Regarding players who may be reinforcements, I will let the communication announce them. At this moment, the most important thing is the players who are here, ours and those who have a contract with Casa Pia, it is in these that we are thinking. Regarding my renewal, as I said, we have been talking. We have been talking a lot, this week we even talked more about it than other issues", revealed the coach, leaving his future open.

Casa Pia, 12th classified, with 35 points, faces Famalicão, eighth, with 42, on Friday, starting at 6:45 pm, at the Estádio Municipal de Famalicão, in a duel of the 34th and last round of the I League, which is refereed by Bruno Vieira, from the Lisbon association.
