'Servir o Benfica' demands audit: "We don't know the results..."
Movement wants a "serious forensic audit of the entire business universe" of the Luz club.

The 'Servir o Benfica' movement took to social media on Thursday afternoon to react to news about an alleged new investigation by the Public Ministry involving Rui Costa, Luís Filipe Vieira, Domingos Soares de Oliveira, and Paulo Gonçalves.
The aforementioned movement, which was headed by Francisco Benítez in the last elections for the presidency of Benfica, challenged the board chaired by Rui Costa to present the results of the audit promised "almost four years ago" and also demanded a "serious forensic audit of the entire business universe" of the Luz club.
"It is with great concern that we were surprised today with yet another investigation by the Public Ministry involving the current president, a former president, a former administrator, and the former director of the Legal department of Sport Lisboa e Benfica. In July 2021, former President Luís Filipe Vieira was arrested, and among other suspicions, he was accused of financially harming Benfica, SAD. Servir o Benfica has defended since then a forensic audit of the entire business group of Sport Lisboa e Benfica. The current board promised a limited audit of the contracts under investigation by the Public Ministry. We immediately stated that this was insufficient, and that a serious audit of the entire business universe of the club was necessary", we can read in the note left on social media.
"Almost 4 years have passed and we do not know the results of the supposed audit, and we are instead surprised by more investigations surrounding the club, which harm its image and which, if the suspicions are confirmed, will result in substantial losses for the assets of Sport Lisboa e Benfica. It is urgent that the Board of Sport Lisboa e Benfica explain to the members the status of the commissioned audit, and that once and for all, with transparency, a serious forensic audit be carried out of the entire business universe of Sport Lisboa e Benfica", ends the statement from 'Servir o Benfica'.
