Vítor Roque, also known as 'Tigrinho', has been linked in the press to FC Porto for next season. The Barcelona player, who had few opportunities in the second half of the current season after arriving from Brazil, is looking for a solution to his position in the market.

The possible deal will be facilitated by the role of Deco, Barcelona's sporting director and also the player's agent, who 'brought' him from Athletico Paranaense. But, since January, he has only played 13 games, two as a starter.

This Wednesday, Xavi explained the limited use of the forward. "The intention was not for Vítor to come in December, but to stay there. That opportunity opened up with Gavi's injury. For his training, we believed it was the best, and so we had the option of incorporating him, in the name of training, so that he would arrive at the club as he was," he revealed.

Before that, André Cury, the player's agent, had harsh words for the club. "He has to have more minutes, and nobody understands why they don't give them to him. Xavi never spoke to the player, and I don't understand this situation. It's not good for either party," complained the Brazilian.

Evanilson wins more duels and has more successful passes than Roque

Considering FC Porto's interest, it is worth comparing Vítor Roque's profile to that of the club's players, with the help of Sofascore statistics. The Brazilian forward, only 19 years old, is the classic 'opportunistic' forward, with good positional sense, and strong in the clash despite his short stature (1.74m, 78 kg). Characteristics that earned him many goals in the Brasileirão.

In 2023, Tigrinho scored 21 goals and provided seven assists, in a team that finished eighth in the table. In 2022, still very young, Athletico Paranaense paid almost five million euros for the player to Cruzeiro, and he scored seven goals in 36 games. He ended up selling it for 40 million.

In the Brasileirão, in 2023, Vítor Roque played 25 games and scored 12 goals, at a frequency of one goal every 143 minutes. He had a conversion rate of 24% of shots and seven great missed chances. He scored four goals with his head, five with his left foot, four with his right foot. He averaged 23 touches, winning 46% of the duels.

Evanilson, in the 2023/24 season, played 26 times and scored 13 goals in the championship, at a frequency of 152 minutes. He missed nine great chances and had a shot conversion rate of 19%. He scored one with his head, three with his left foot and nine with his right foot. He averages 34 touches per game, has more successful passes than Roque and won 53% of the duels, more than Vítor.

Tigrinho played for the Brazilian national team once. More than Evanilson, who was recently called up by the canarinha and is still waiting to make his debut. 40 games and 24 goals scored by the forward born in Fortaleza, this season. He is in the best season in terms of goals, surpassing the mark of 2021/22 (20), even with an injury at the beginning of the season.

A 'remodeling' of FC Porto's attack is expected next season

It was a season of affirmation for Evanilson, who will also certainly be targeted by big European clubs. But the Brazilian is not FC Porto's only option for the center of the attack. Toni Martínez, who arrived in the same season as Evanilson, had a 'warm' season.

In 25 games, most of them as a substitute, the Spaniard scored only four goals. He was recently removed from the squad and is expected to leave at the end of the season. Mehdi Taremi, with 10 goals, is another player who is 'packed', having already been confirmed at Internazionale by Milanese officials. It is, therefore, a card out of the deck for 2024/25.

Danny Namaso is the striker missing from the 'equation'. The Englishman, who has a contract until 2028, has only scored two goals this season (in the previous one, there were seven). He is also, like Toni, an 'eternal' substitute. FC Porto's lack of 'firepower' and the dependence on Evanilson lead FC Porto to consider adding some more 'gunpowder' to the attack.
