Afonso Patrão emphasizes that the under-17 team is "confident" for the European Championship
Sporting de Braga forward Afonso Patrão today underlined the confidence of the Portuguese under-17 football team in a good performance in the European Championship, which takes place between May 20 and June 05, in Cyprus.

"We're training very well and the team is confident. We know what we have to do in the next game and we're going to face the game against Spain in the best way", said the footballer after the penultimate day of work at the Football City, in Oeiras, Lisbon.
Portugal is in Group D, with Spain, England and France, but the opponents do not scare the Portuguese international.
"We know that the group is difficult, it has big names, but we also know our worth. We expect complicated games, but we're going to do our best to win each one of them", he assured, in statements reproduced on the website of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF).
Winner of the competition twice (2003 and 2016), the 'quinas' team travels to Cyprus on Friday.
The first match will be against the Spanish on 21 May. On the 24th, they will face the English in the second round, and will finish the group stage on the 27th, against France.
The top two teams from each group in the competition will qualify for the quarter-finals, scheduled for 29 and 30 May. The semi-finals will be played on 2 June and the final is scheduled for 5 June.
