Francisco Trincão gave an extensive interview to the newspaper A Bola this Friday, in which he reviewed the season at the service of Sporting. After a start of the season with criticism, the winger became one of the most influential players of the team.

"Sometimes we try and we don't succeed, I continued to be always the same, things end up happening, they end up flowing and, as I said, it's football. I believe that nobody can have phases of years and games always playing well, it's normal, I ended up managing to consolidate myself in the team, to play, because I also wasn't having the minutes that I wanted and then it's football, things end up happening", began by saying the Portuguese international, who relied on his family in this more difficult period.

"I had my family, friends, even the fans always believed in me, as much as, and it was normal, they demanded from me, and from any of us, I was always very aware that I knew that if I played and had time I would manage to turn it around and do what I wanted, therefore, I take that very calmly", he continued, also leaving a word to Rúben Amorim for the confidence that he has been giving him.

"He has always had a lot of confidence in me, but I have also always been sure that I was capable of doing things, because I know what I'm worth and I know my quality. I believed that it was just a question of time (...) He always believed in me, he always gave me confidence, he told me to be calm, not to worry about things. I knew that I always had his confidence, I knew that he would give me the opportunity to play and I think that this is the greatest proof of confidence that a coach can give a player. The coach has always given me this confidence, therefore, I only try to reciprocate", he stressed.

Trincão also guaranteed that he didn't let himself be carried away by the contestation that he was the target of in the first half of the championship.

"I believe that in football it's normal, even Cristiano and Messi went through this, will I not go through it? We will all go through it, it's part of football, I accept very well the demand of the fans and of Sporting, who always want to win and always want the best. I am one more to help and as long as it depends on me I will do the maximum so that they are happy, that's what my job is", he concluded.
