English reveal reason that led Liverpool to 'drop' Rúben Amorim
Sporting coach was the reds' favourite to succeed Jurgen Klopp, but the price requested by Frederico Varandas prevented the operation.

Rúben Amorim was one step away from becoming Liverpool manager. The Sporting coach was the Reds' favourite to succeed Jurgen Klopp at the end of the current season, but the price demanded by the Lions to release the coach made the deal unfeasible.
In statements made to the portal CaughtOffside, journalist Christian Falk admitted that there was already an agreement in principle between the Sporting coach and the Anfield badge, but almost from one hour to the next, everything collapsed.
The same source reveals that Frederico Varandas initially asked for 10 million euros to release Rúben Amorim. However, the Sporting president changed his mind and decided to raise the stakes to 20 million. The decision took the Reds out of the race for Amorim.
After the change of mind, Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes decided to move forward with Arne Slot, Feyenoord coach who has not yet been confirmed by Liverpool.
