Three Australian rules footballers arrested over illegal betting
Three top-flight Australian rules footballers have been arrested and charged over an illegal gambling investigation, with police alleging they were paid to fix matches.

One of the players allegedly asked teammates to commit serious fouls and receive yellow cards in several matches played late last year, authorities said.
While police have not released the names of the suspects, media reports have identified the player as Mexican Ulises Davila, who plays for Macarthur FC and has previously played for Portuguese club Vitoria Setubal on loan from English Premier League club Chelsea.
Police allege the 33-year-old was "acting on the instructions and under the direction of an organised crime figure currently based in South America", and paid his teammates up to $6000 for each yellow card they received.
"It will be alleged these players deliberately sought to be cautioned with yellow cards in exchange for illicit payments," NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Michael Fitzgerald said.
