The already relegated Desportivo de Chaves ends the season with a trip to Estádio José Alvalade, in Lisbon, on Saturday, starting at 6:00 pm, to face the champion Sporting. In the pre-match press conference between the last and the first, Moreno admitted that being able to climb one place in the league table motivates the team from Trás-os-Montes, due to the possibility of taking advantage of the possible "administrative relegation" of an opponent in the I League. However, the responsibility of representing an emblem like Desportivo de Chaves should be the greatest driving force for the team from Chaves, which will not be able to count on the injured Pedro Pinho, Cafú Phete and Kelechi, nor on Dário Essugo, who is prevented from making his contribution by the loan from the 'lions'. "We have a weight, we represent a region, a club with fantastic people, I repeat this, fantastic professionals, who do not let us lack anything. For this reason, more than the issue of being able to climb one place [in the table], which is also important, we have to show up at Alvalade with all the rigor, with all the professionalism", he reiterated. In an assessment of the last week of work of the season, in the aftermath of the relegation to the II League, Moreno said it was difficult, but "of learning, of growth for everyone", assuring that the group is "more prepared for the future", although focused on the game against the champion Sporting. "It is a game that has a lot of visibility, we understand the context, the party that exists on the other side, but tomorrow [Saturday] we will show up at Alvalade with the seriousness that we have brought here, and represent this club in the best way we know how because it is our obligation", he stressed. On the other side, Moreno expects a competitive Sporting, due to the "internal objectives" that the team led by Rúben Amorim still wants to achieve. "They want to reach 90 points, they want to break the record for goals scored, all this makes us realize that we are going to face a Sporting equal to what it has been throughout the year, the best team in our championship, a fair champion and, therefore, we realize that we are going to have difficulties", he warned. The coach also said that Desportivo de Chaves will try to "prevent these records from being broken". Regarding the future and the possibility of continuing in Chaves, Moreno said he was focused on the game with Sporting, adding that he would have a "frontal conversation" with the administration of the SAD from Trás-os-Montes. "My future, my concern, is tomorrow's game [Saturday], after that, there will be news, certainly. My contract has never been a problem, knowing that there was a lot of mistrust in relation to what the coaching staff can do, based on the results throughout the year, even I am suspicious of what was done, it is normal in these contexts of relegation. It is in this way, serious, frontal, that I will have the conversation that I think I should have with those responsible", stressed Moreno. The coach took the opportunity to thank "the support and patience" of the fans from Trás-os-Montes, apologizing for the season and for the fact that the work group did not have "the necessary competence" to avoid relegation.
