Arne Slot ends the 'soap opera': "I confirm that I will coach Liverpool"

Arne Slot confirmed on Friday at a press conference that the home match against Excelsior on matchday 34 of the Eredivisie will be his last game in charge of Feyenoord's first team, a position he has held since 2021.
"I can confirm that I will be the manager of Liverpool next year," he said in a statement reproduced by the television station ESPN, thus putting an end to a real 'soap opera' that had been going on since January, when Jurgen Klopp announced that he was leaving Anfield.
"The feeling that I am leaving is getting stronger and stronger. That's why I'm a bit late. There are some people you just don't want to shake hands with. It means a lot to me," he continued.
"To see that people genuinely regret that you are leaving... You can say that in words, but when you see it in people's facial expressions, it means a lot. That helps to do it in a positive way," he added.
