Filipa Patão and Sílvia Rebelo, from Benfica, and João Marques and Beatriz Rodrigues, from Racing Power, agreed on this idea at the preview conference held at the match venue, the Estádio Nacional.

"Honestly, we are at a historic moment in Portuguese women's football, regardless of what may happen. Racing Power are in the Portuguese Cup final for the first time - I congratulate them for being debutants and excellent debutants - and Benfica could also make history here if they win the Portuguese Cup. So, we will undoubtedly be facing a historic moment. As for the history of the game, it all depends on moments", assessed the coach Filipa Patão, in the opening.

Filipa Patão considered that the final will be decided on details: "Unpredictability exists in all games. It can happen because it is football and that is where the beauty of the game and this sport lies. It will depend a lot on details, finals are always like that, regardless of whether there may be a team that is not the favourite compared to the other because it is not a so-called 'big' team, but that does not mean anything".

On the opposite side, João Marques emphasised the unique moment that Racing Power is going through, promising to "give everything" to lift the trophy.

"Tomorrow [Sunday], we will try to bring this title to the club, for which the management worked with many sacrifices, so that these players and this working group lack nothing. We will dignify this club as much as possible and give everything we have within us to try to mark this moment, which is already historic for being in a Portuguese Cup final in four years of existence", said the coach of the team from the south bank of the Tagus.

The coach, who has a Portuguese Cup on his resume and, curiously, in the service of his now opponent, Benfica, also recalled the short existence of the team he commands, which has been very successful so far.

"Without a doubt, and not only Racing Power, but any other team, everyone wants this title, as simple as that. The first great difficulty is that it is not easy to reach the Cup final, but of course, in four seasons, reaching a final and winning it would be something historic for a club like Racing Power, fantastic", he pointed out.

Defender Sílvia Rebelo won the same edition of the Cup as the opposing coach, who coached Benfica in the 2018/2019 season, and recalled that the 'eagles' always aim to win all competitions.

"Benfica wants to continue collecting titles and this is one of them. This is a Cup that we have been missing for some time and despite respecting Racing, for being a very competitive team, we want to take another title to our museum", she said.

The Portuguese international also showed herself to be particularly attentive to the power of her opponent, considering that the athletes of the two teams will want to "seize the moment": "All games are different and it is a final, in the finals all players want to win".

In turn, defender Beatriz Rodrigues also highlighted the difficulty of the feat already achieved by Racing Power of reaching a final, applying to achieve another, if they manage to defeat the 'eagles'.

"It is already history to reach the Portuguese Cup final. There is a very small percentage of teams that reach a Cup final and our goal is very well defined and will be to make history and emphasise it even more by winning this Cup", she said, in a promising way.

Benfica and Racing Power will face each other in the Portuguese Cup final on Sunday, at 5:15 pm, at the Estádio Nacional, in Oeiras, with refereeing by Catarina Campos, from the Lisbon Football Association.
