"Today is a very special day in the century-long history of Sporting de Braga. Ten years later, we have once again won the under-19 national championship title. This achievement has a special meaning, since it is the first national championship title after the inauguration of our Sports City in 2017", can be read in a message on the official website of the Braga team.

After the draw on FC Porto's pitch (3-3), Sporting de Braga secured today the victory in the junior championship for the third time in history, 10 years after the last triumph, succeeding Famalicão.

The manager stressed the "great pride and satisfaction" for the "talent and quality displayed" by the 'arsenal' team and defended that "this achievement is more than just a title: it is the result of the work of a united team, with strong leadership and determined to achieve success".

António Salvador thanked the players' "commitment and dedication throughout the season".

"You are an example for all those who wear our jersey and I am sure that you will continue to bring much joy to Sporting de Braga", he said.

The president of the Minho team also recalled the "excellent debut" in the UEFA Youth League this season, in which Sporting de Braga was eliminated by one of the finalists (AC Milan), noting that "this title allows Sporting de Braga to participate in the next edition of the largest European competition in this category, which is very important for the continuous affirmation" of the club on the national and international scene.

The 'arsenal' leader did not forget Pedro Pires, "a coach who has been doing an excellent job over the last few years in training and who now sees his name eternalised as one of the titled coaches in the history" of Sporting de Braga.

Salvador also left a "deep thank you" to the club's vice-president and SAD administrator Hugo Vieira: "His dedication to Sporting de Braga, and in particular to our training, is one of the trump cards of success".

The Braga team drew 3-3 on FC Porto's pitch and have 31 points, after 13 out of 14 rounds of the final phase, five more than Benfica, who conceded a 0-0 draw when visiting Académico de Viseu.

Sporting de Braga repeated the feats of 1976/77 and 2013/14, equalling Académica with three victories in the championship, in a record that is dominated by Benfica, with 25 titles, two more than FC Porto (23) and eight more than Sporting (17).
