Roger Schmidt has become the sixth coach to reject the offer to take over as head coach of Bayern Munich this week, following the already announced decision to fire Thomas Tuchel at the end of the current season.

According to information released this Saturday by the German newspaper Bild, the Benfica coach was directly contacted in recent days by representatives of the Bavarian board, but he made it known that, at this time, he had no intention of 'changing scenery'.

The German coach thus joins Xabi Alonso (Bayer Leverkusen), Julian Nagelsmann (Germany), Ralf Rangnick (Austria), Oliver Glasner (Crystal Palace) ... and Thomas Tuchel himself in rejecting the position.

The team in which the Portuguese international Raphael Guerreiro plays, thus remains active in the market in search of securing a coach for 2024/24, a task that is proving to be more complex than expected.
