Benfica finds it strange not to have received the champion's trophy: "It's the country we have"
Benfica's vice-president for sports considered it "very strange" that Benfica did not receive the women's national handball championship trophy today, after beating ABC away (29-25).

"This is the country we have," added Fernando Tavares, in statements to Lusa news agency, after the game in which Benfica beat the team from Braga and was crowned three-time national champion of the sport.
Despite this, athletes, coaches and other members of the 'incarnate' team celebrated the title effusively among themselves and with the few fans who were present at the Flávio Sá Leite Pavilion, in Braga, where the game with ABC took place.
With two rounds to go until the end of the final phase of the championship, Benfica had to win this game, the penultimate round, to renew the title and thus conquer the desired 'three-peat'.
The superiority and favoritism of the 'incarnates' were confirmed with the victory against ABC and the celebrations erupted immediately after the final whistle, with the entire team giving free rein to their joy in the venue with songs and many hugs.
Both the incarnate captain, Mihaela Mincinua, and the coach João Florêncio, who was emotional, dedicated the triumph and the title to the Ukrainian player Viktoriya Borshchenko, who was absent due to a serious health problem, which both preferred not to detail.
