René Adler used his opinion column on German television station Sky Sport this Sunday to lavish praise on the work done by Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool over the last eight and a half seasons.

The German coach will take charge of the Reds for the last time this afternoon against Wolverhampton, and in the opinion of the former goalkeeper, who played for clubs such as Bayer Leverkusen and Mainz during his long career, no tribute paid to him will be enough.

"He took the Reds from mediocrity, almost insignificance, and shaped the team into an international giant, once again, and managed to celebrate several successes. For example, winning the Champions League in 2018/19, or the Premier League, a year later," he began by saying.

"Klopp, in Liverpool, is on the same level as the Beatles. People love him there, and he will certainly receive a monument. At Anfield, all the stands have names, but why shouldn't there be a Jurgen Klopp stand?" he continued.

"The legendary Sir Kenny Dalglish has his own, it doesn't hurt to touch The Kop. But a statue may not be enough. So why not a stand, Liverpool? The Kop and The Klopp stand, that would be something," he added.
