Leixões bids farewell to the season by overtaking Oliveirense

Leixões visited and defeated Oliveirense, 1-3, early in the afternoon this Sunday, putting an end to a victory 'fast' that had lasted for more than two months and ending the 2023/24 season on a positive note.

Bruno Ventura was the main figure of the match played at Estádio Carlos Osório, in Oliveira de Azeméis, by scoring twice, at 32 and 49 minutes. The home team's response came from Jaiminho, who replaced Filipe Alves at 59 minutes and scored 18 minutes later.

In the meantime, there was still time for the VAR to come into action, to alert the match referee, Anzhony Rodrigues, of an irregular position by Paulité, which led to the goal by the Portuguese forward being disallowed. At 83 minutes, Mozino scored and sealed the final result.

With this victory, Leixões ended the season with 37 points, which allowed them to isolate themselves in 14th place, with a three-point advantage over Oliveirense, who remained 'lodged' just above the 'water line'.
