Santa Clara is the II Liga champion for the second time in history, thanks to the triumph achieved at the end of this Sunday afternoon, in the reception to União de Leiria, by 2-0, in a game related to the 34th and last round of this season. A complicated match for the islanders, who, despite having entered the field already with direct promotion to I Liga mathematically guaranteed, made a point of closing the 2023/24 campaign with a 'golden key', which they finally found at 63 minutes. It was then that Pedro Ferreira took advantage of an incomplete defense by Pawel Kieszek to, in great style, 'shoot' into the back of the goal. The 'final blow' would end up coming close to the final whistle, through Bruno Almeida. At exactly the same time, Nacional received and beat Mafra, by 2-0, with the 'help' of two great penalties converted by Chuchu Ramírez, which proved insufficient to overtake the rival from the islands. After the math, Santa Clara finished in first place, with 73 points, followed by Nacional, with 71. The podium was closed with AVS, which, with 64 points, has a scheduled promotion playoff with the second-to-last classified of I Liga, Portimonense. At the opposite end of the table, Lank Vilaverdense and Belenenses are automatically relegated to Liga 3, unlike Feirense, who will still seek 'salvation' through another playoff.
