Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has given a wide-ranging interview to Sky Sports on Monday in which he has addressed the criticism he and the team have faced during a difficult campaign.

"At the beginning of the season, I won the player of the month trophy, voted by the fans here. Straight after that I had an injury, a big injury. The injury came back, now I am playing as a centre-back. It is tough. I am making a wider analysis," the Brazil international said. "Injured players? I think never, in any moment of the season, the manager had 25 senior players available. So it is really challenging, not only for me, for the players, but for the manager as well. For the club, it is really challenging. "I was considered one of the best signings in the Premier League last season and now it is not worth anything? Criticism is part of football and when it is constructive criticism, it is always welcome. But from the moment they disrespect, I don't think it is right. When there is a lack of respect, it is worrying. I also don't have respect for these people."
