Official: Moreno leaves Desportivo de Chaves after relegation to the II League
Moreno is leaving Desportivo de Chaves, relegated to the second division of football, announced today the SAD transmontana, justifying the coach's non-continuance with the fact that the objectives for the 2023/24 season were not met.

The coach from Guimarães will not continue to lead the destinies of the transmontane emblem next season, confirmed to Lusa Francisco José Carvalho, president of Desportivo de Chaves' SAD, who in the meantime announced Moreno's departure on social media.
The official explained to Lusa that there was the possibility of the coach continuing at the helm of the Flavian team, but the return to the II Portuguese Football League weighed on the decision.
"We did not achieve the objectives and we did not continue for the next season", reiterated Francisco José Carvalho, explaining that the decision not to continue was made by both parties.
Desportivo de Chaves finished the season in last place, with 23 points, having been relegated to the II Football League on the 33rd and penultimate round, after being defeated by Famalicão (1-0).
Moreno, 42, joined Desportivo de Chaves before the sixth round, succeeding José Gomes, after having led the main team of Vitória de Guimarães until the first round of the 2023/24 season, after having led the Minho team to sixth place and consequent qualification for the preliminary rounds of the Europa Conference League in the 2022/23 season.
