Daymaro Salina, captain of FC Porto's handball team, renewed his contract with the Dragons this Monday, remaining with the blue and whites until 2026.
"It's a special day. I've been here for 13 years, which is not much for me, I still remember the day I arrived. I'm staying and I'll always be very happy to continue at this club and to represent these colours. I look at these two years as I have looked at all the years I've lived here. They are two more years to win everything we have to win because this is the club's DNA. We want to keep going", stressed Daymaro Salina, in statements to FC Porto's official media.
André Villas-Boas, FC Porto's recently elected president, praised the 36-year-old Portuguese international pivot.
"Any captain represents all of FC Porto's values to the maximum, transmitting them to the squad and to the team. With Daymaro, we are dealing with a person who has enhanced the name of FC Porto with all his performance and yield, but also in success and in titles. A fully deserved renewal before the final with Sporting which is expected to be an additional factor of motivation for him", he stressed.
"We continue to build winning teams, which is the most important thing. We always have this responsibility and, in the figure of Daymaro, we will have this great representative. I'm sure that he will continue to encourage the teams taking into account the objective and will lead us to success", concluded André Villas-Boas.
