Coach who led Leicester to Premier League title retires
Claudio Ranieri has brought the curtain down on a 38-year managerial career.

Thursday's match against Fiorentina, at the Unipol Domus Arena, will be Claudio Ranieri's last as a coach. According to information from Sky Sports Italia, the coach has in fact decided to say goodbye to Cagliari at the end of the season and end his career.
The salvation achieved on Sunday will therefore be the last great feat of Sir Claudio, who will have already communicated his decision to the club.
From 1986 to 2024, Claudio Ranieri's beautiful coaching career spans 38 years of football. The match against Fiorentina, on matchday 38 of Serie A, will be his last.
Ranieri, 72, has won ten titles, including a Premier League with Leicester City, in a memorable season for the club's fans. In 2015/16, he was considered FIFA's coach of the year, after that. He also won a Copa del Rey, a French Ligue 2 and five titles in Italy.
Cagliari issued a statement announcing the coach's departure: "Mr. Ranieri says goodbye to Cagliari: in his two experiences at the club he always managed to lead the team to the conquest of the final goal. In the past (from Serie C to A) and a survival in the first division. In the last year and a half he achieved another masterpiece by winning the playoffs and securing a place in the first division this season", it reads.
