Benfica's Florentino Luís again arouses interest from English club

Florentino Luís is back on the agenda of Everton, a club in the English Premier League, according to Desporto ao Minuto. The Benfica midfielder, 24, has a contract until June 2027 and a termination clause of 120 million euros.

The English club, which finished 15th in the Premier League this season, was linked to the Portuguese midfielder in January, during the winter market. Benfica did not accept, at that time, to negotiate the player's pass.

The Liverpool-based club has four Portuguese players in its ranks - João Virgínia, Beto, Youssef Chermiti and André Gomes, who will leave at the end of the season.

In a season in which he was less of a starter than in 2023/24, Florentino Luís played 45 official games. Last year, he participated in 54 matches. The Portuguese-Angolan gained space in Roger Schmidt's choices especially in the second half of the season.

The player trained at Benfica has already been loaned to Monaco, from Ligue 1, to Getafe, from La Liga. He has nine titles on his resume, including two national championships, one European U-17 and one European U-19 for Portugal.

Even so, officials from the Angolan Football Federation and coach Pedro Soares Gonçalves expressed interest in including Florentino Luís in the options for the Angolan national team, as he still awaits a debut for the Portuguese national team.
