"Sporting has resources and wants to keep Gyokeres"

Francisco Salgado Zenha gave an extensive interview to TVI on Tuesday, in which he addressed several topics, including the financial 'break' with which Sporting is already preparing for the next season, after being crowned national champion.
"We are a much more fragile economy than our European competitors and we have to make a decision. Do we want to continue to be competitive at a European level, to go to the Champions League or not? And if we want to, we have to find ways to be there and be competitive," he said.
"Sporting's response is to continue to work well in the football business, to generate sporting and economic income with players and at the same time we have to improve the entertainment business to mitigate the need to sell players," he continued.
"That's what we have to do. But continue to sell, only with a nuance: today we are not obliged to sell, we can manage our timing. We will end up selling. We sell and buy every year, but we manage our timing," he added.
In closing, the administrator of SAD Leonina left a certainty about Viktor Gyokeres: "Sporting always wants to keep its best players. We have to wait for him and see what happens. But he has resources and wants to keep him".
