Analysis of the game. "When we had situations in our favor, Atalanta was really good at getting back into position. We were prepared for that, but they were better than us. It's football, it happens. We'll have to understand what happened because on Saturday we have another important final. The defeat certainly hurts, but we must take advantage of this pain in a positive way. What we have achieved is truly exceptional and we should be proud. Overall, we were not at our best, everyone, including me, so we will learn a lot.”
The plan went wrong. “Today was not supposed to be like this. We were not able to deal with as many difficult situations as we were preparing for, because Atalanta demands a lot from us. We were not putting the ball in the right positions, because they do it very well. We were not able to come back and cancel that out. It wasn't supposed to be like this."
Defeat after 52 games. “The unbeaten streak is over. Congratulations to Atalanta, they deserve it. We tried to make too many passes in one go, when we should have played a little more. It was not a question of tactics. Today, they were better individually and [collectively] as well. It is a shame that it is a big defeat, but we have another final on Saturday and we will try to learn.”
Pride. “Today's result does not change in any way the pride I have in my players and in what we are doing. It hurts, because we wanted to lift that trophy, but you can't have everything. We were lifting the Bundesliga on Saturday and we will have the opportunity to lift the Pokal this Saturday."
