Maguire explains Man Utd's poor season with 'freakish' number

Harry Maguire has given a revealing interview to Thursday’s edition of The Sun in which he admits Manchester United have fallen well short of expectations this season.
The Red Devils finished eighth in the Premier League and crashed out of the Europa League and Carabao Cup early on, meaning they must beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final next weekend to salvage some pride.
“It’s been a very disappointing season in terms of where we were at a year ago. Everyone would admit that. Obviously, we’ve had a ridiculous amount of injuries, an abnormal amount,” said the centre-back.
“We haven’t dealt with that well enough. We should have picked up more points than we did. We haven’t played well enough, the performances haven’t been good enough. Obviously, Europe is something we should be challenging for.
“To win the FA Cup against a team who are playing so well would be a great achievement.”
